The Everlast 50 is a budget unit that packs a hell of a punch for it’s size. Cutting steel up to one inch and the 220v option makes this unit turn heads when shopping around. The price of this unit also makes it desirable among first time buyers as it a lot cheaper than most units from Hobart and Miller.

Front Display – The front display has both a pressure gauge as well as a knob for adjusting your amps. You are also equip with warning lights that helps troubleshoot any missed connections like an air hose.

Great Power – This unit cuts better than most 60 amp units we have tested. That being said it packs a large punch for such a small unit. With were cutting through 5/8 steel like it was paper. We were impressed.

Lack of directions – The directions included in the box were not very clear, but we were able to figure everything out.

Lack of “wow” features – Nothing really jumped out about this unit besides it’s cutting power. Basically, it has no bells and whistles.

Overall Grade: B+

This unit works great and have some serious raw cutting power. However, it’s a very basic unit. We enjoyed using it and it got the job done at the end of the day. Overall we were just more impressed with the more expensive units we tested. However, if this fits your budget you are getting a lot of functionality for your money.
